Steel wool is a very versatile material and can be used for a variety of household, remodeling and construction tasks. Rhodes American Steel Wool, Assorted Grades is made of uniform, high quality metal strands. The package includes three (3) grades of steel wool: Coarse (#3), Medium (#0) and Fine (#000). Use coarse-grade for stripping, medium-grade for between coats, and fine-grade wool for finishing. The assortment includes 12 steel wool pads.

Steel Wool Uses

Coarse (#3)

• Remove rust from metal surfaces including garden tools, grills and machinery
• Clean brick, rough metal and stone
• Strip paint, varnish, lacquer and shellac with removers from wood surfaces

Medium (#0)

• Restore and polish aluminum, brass, copper and other metals
• Clean golf clubs, bathroom fixtures, stainless steel and whitewalls
• Remove wax build-up and scuff marks from wood floors and furniture
• Use between coats and to smooth raised grains

Fine (#000)

• Buff wood finish to a high gloss
• Clean glass block, plastic tile and terrazzo
• Remove finishes from antiques
• Apply furniture wax or oils.
